Erin Jones, Ph.D.
Dr. Jones is a licensed clinical psychologist at the Child and Adolescent Mood Program (CAMP) at Emory. She received her bachelor’s degree in Psychology from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, and her master’s and doctorate degrees from Emory University in Atlanta, Georgia. She completed her predoctoral internship at Yale-New Haven Hospital, where she worked in adolescent inpatient and intensive outpatient services, and her postdoctoral training at Virtually Better, Inc, in Decatur, Ga. Dr. Jones’ clinical interests include working with children, adolescents, and families. She specializes in working with adolescents and young adults who are struggling with eating disorders, overweight, and/or body image concerns. Dr. Jones has designed an iPhone app for self-monitoring appetite cues, which she is currently developing for clinical use. Across her research and clinical interests, Dr. Jones is interested in the development, implementation, and dissemination of evidence-based practices.

Devika is a fifth year graduate student in the Clinical Psychology Doctoral Program at Emory. She received her bachelor’s degree in psychology and history from Northwestern University in 2014. After graduation, Devika worked as a study coordinator for Drs. Edith Chen and Greg Miller studying socioeconomic status and health disparities in the realm of pediatric asthma. Here in the HEWS lab, Devika is interested in studying obesity prevention, specifically in the realm of infant feeding practices and growth. She was awarded an NSF Graduate Research Fellowship in 2018 in support of this work. Devika completed her master's in the summer of 2018 and is currently completing her clinical internship at Emory's Child and Adolescent Mood Program.

Elise is a fifth year graduate student in the Clinical Psychology Doctoral Program at Emory. After graduating Cornell University with a BA in psychology, she headed to NYC to receive an MS in Human Nutrition at Columbia University. While there, her research focused on how macronutrients affect subsequent energy intake over time. She then worked at the Columbia University Medical Center devoting her time to a cooperative implementation initiative that aims to improve behavioral health service access for youth in the justice system. Here in the HEWS lab, Elise’s research focuses on community-based childhood obesity prevention and treatment interventions. Elise is particularly interested in using mobile health apps that support healthy eating behaviors within the family context. She completed her master's in the summer of 2018 and is currently completing her clinical internship at Emory's Child and Adolescent Mood Program.

Brittany is a third year graduate student in the Clinical Psychology Doctoral Program at Emory. She received her BA in psychology from Florida International University in 2018. While there, she worked as a research assistant in Dr. Jeremy Pettit’s Child Anxiety and Phobia Program, where she assisted in both individual exposure therapy and group cognitive behavioral therapy with children between the ages of seven and twelve. She also participated in the University of Kentucky Summer Training in Alcohol Research Program, where she worked with Dr. Peggy Keller. During her time there, she conducted a study which examined the impact of parental beliefs about alcohol on their parenting and, in turn, their adolescent’s alcohol use. Here in the HEWS lab, Brittany is interested in studying the maintenance and treatment of bulimia nervosa. More specifically, her research focuses on accurately defining and measuring the Loss-of-Control that is experienced during binge eating episodes, as well as identifying potential methods of intervention such as the use of grounding techniques to better address these experiences.

Viviane Valdes, MPH

Viviane is a second year graduate student in the Clinical Psychology Doctoral Program at Emory.
